Gurpo Chartwell has put together a highly qualified directive team which focus its efforts in the development and operation of hotels and resorts in Mexico

 

Grupo Chartwell was founded in 1994 by Carlos Gerardo Ancira Elizondo, with the intention of develop hotels in México. An association was made with the Fisher and Getty families in 1996, which brought the Hilton franchise back to Mexico after 25 years of absence, with the opening of the Hilton Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México. In 1998 Grupo Chartwell acquired a portfolio of hotels located in Cancun, Ixtapa, Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City, all operated under the brand Krystal. That same year the hotel Continental Plaza located in Guadalajar was purchased and renamed Hilton Guadalajara. Through an association with Goldman Sachs, in 1999 Grupo Chartwell acquired a hotel chain called Quinta Real. In 2000, the group was hired by Strategic Hotels and Resorts to be their representative and negotiate the purchase of the Four Seasons Punta Mita. During 2001 the group joined NH Hotels to develop the brand NH Hotels in México and in other Latin american countries, said brand now has 2,072 rooms across 13 properties (buildings) in Mexico. After 5 years of working together, Chartwell in agreement with NH Hotels, exercised their exit right and parted ways, the negotiation left an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 34%. Grupo Chartwell has made associations with Kimco Realty Corporation for the development of malls, The Related Group of Florida and ABILIA Inteligencia Inmobiliaria (formally kwon as BCBA Impulse Ingenieria Inmobiliaria), for the development of residential areas in Mexico.

 

Nexxus Capital is one of the biggest private equity fund managers in Mexico. It was co-founded in 1995 by Luis Alberto Harvey with the purpose of providing consultant services in the investment banking and fundraising for SME's in Mexico. By 1998, after a series of successful consultant projects, Nexxus Capital had evolved to become an investment vehicle manager for private equity funds. The Nexxus Capital team shares the philosophy of disciplined investment, has the complementary abilities and is specialized in business in Mexico. Nexxus has a great transnational experience, as of June 30, 2016, the group has completed 22 investments and is fully divested from 11 portfolio companies.

 

Walton Street Capital was founded in December of 1994 by Neil G. Bluhm and several ex-executives of the JMB Royalty Corporation and their subsidiaries. Since then, Walton Street Capital mainly works to the establishment and operation of investment funds for real state. Walton Street Capital belongs in is entirety to their directors and its not affiliated with any bank, financial services company, property manager or lessor.

Walton Street Capital has a vast worldwide experience in the purchase and administration of a great variety of sectors of real state, such as industrial, commercial, residential, office and hotels. They have invested in Mexico since 1998. In 2006 the group opened their offices in Mexico City with the aim of growing their own investments and their capacity for asset management. Walton Street Capital has either contributed or invested, around $1,000 million USD, to the industrial, hotel, hospital and residential sectors in Mexico, all through their investment fund, Walton Street Mexico Fund I.Walton Street Caital has gathered form different kinds of investors such as, pension funds, foundtions, banks, insurance companies, and high buying power, for a figure higher than $5,700 millines USD. Since 1994 Walton has either acquired or developed 52 hotels with more than 17,300 rooms worldwide. Currently Walton in the owner and operates 29 hotels with a total of 7,900 aproximatetly.
